Nuclear Technology... should be banned??

Nuclear technology was known many years ago. Some interesting scientist like Marie Curie made the first investigations in order to know more about its behavior and what they found was incredible: a source of energy unique and powerful. Since then until now, this technology has been used for many purposes for example: energy production, investigations in other areas like medicine, etc.
Some countries already have tested some of the uses of nuclear technology; the most common is generation of energy. It is a fact, that this source of energy has a better performance than other sources of energy. However, there is not much investigation regarding nuclear waste management, which is the major concern due to its persistence in the environment.  Another important aspect to mention is the risk that derives from the handling of nuclear technology, not only for humans but also for the environment. One example of the magnitude of this issue is the huge tragedy of Chernobyl which after so many years continues with high levels of radioactivity.
In spite of these arguments, it is important to consider that new trends are leading to develop new technologies targeted to reduce our dependence from fossil fuels. Currently, there is much investigation in new sources of energy such as wind power, hydroelectric and by solar panels. But some countries do not have the environmental conditions for using them and for this reason they are putting their efforts in nuclear technology. Moreover, it is important to mention that some countries like Russia have used this kind of energy for many years under high security standards and with excellent results.
Due to the fact that investigation cannot be stopped in my personal opinion, nuclear technology must be considered as an important resource for investigation to develop inventions. But, this scientific work must be regulated by a third party in order to guarantee that the use or develop of this technology will not be to damage human beings or environment. I also believe that if a country decides to work with nuclear technology, it should be obligated to present a complete expedient to inform: the scope of the investigation, an environmental risk assessment and a procedure to manage nuclear waste.

Our man in Havana.... spionage and more

This is hard!! I have never taken a class to learn what is the correct way to write a Blog. But well, I am going to follow my intuition and I will express my general ideas about the book Our Man in Havana.
When I started to read the book, I felt a little bit frustrated because I could not understand some paragraphs. Those were related to some code messages that the main character used to send to report his activities. These ideas were a little bit difficult to understand (an understandable situation if we take into account that is because those were created for protect secrets).
In my opinion this book has a funny and ironic story. At the beginning it seems that the main character “Mr. Wormold” is totally lost. He had a teenager daughter, who is used to buying expensive and useless things. Her last request was a horse!! His father accepted to buy it, in spite of knowing he could not afford it. When I was reading this part; I remembered those days when I asked money to my mom and she used to say:  if you need money; find a job. I cannot imagine what she would say if I will request something so expensive like a horse.

But well, returning to the book, the story took another way when Mr. Wormold received a job offer. But not a common one, he received a proposal to become a real spy. At first, he was unsure to take the offer or not, but when he thought about his doubts... he realized that this was the only way to afford all the expenses of his daughter.

However, He does not complicate his life with this new job. He just took some situations from his day to day and added details to make them sound like a real complot. For me, one of the funniest parts was when the chief started to talk about the drawings of Mr. Wormold like a nuclear bomb or something and there were just a simple drawing of a vacuum cleaner.

Now the story is taking another path and the situations that Mr. Wormold invented by a mysterious reason are becoming reality .... ohhh
